Art Show "Expansion" Displays talent and skill

Students' reflections on their work, followed by a photograph of their exhibit.

"My pieces reflect what I am going through at the time of their conception, resulting in a near time-line of what I have done with art."

"The different themes that can be identify in my work are sports and social life. I tend to make my artworks revolving around such themes because it's what I relate to the most and I find it easier for my creativity to flow when I utilize those specific themes."

"Conveying the meaning to the audience is the hardest part to me because the symbolism in my pieces is so personal, but the meaning is relatively universal. Finding the balance between personal connection and conveying meaning wat the most difficult part. For example, my home project is designed to show the flexible definition of home and how my two houses come together to form one space that is considered my home. This is shown through the coded addresses and the flexible material. It is a connection to myself because my address is coded in a childhood code my brother and I learned together, so in that sense it only has true meaning to me. But, It holds universal meaning in its definition of a flexible home. That is something many people can understand."

"All [my work] express some sort of thought or emotion that I have. I consider all my pieces extensions of my mind and personality, while at the same time telling a story."
